Closure of UNMIL

The United Nations Mission in Liberia was established in October 2003 to support for the implementation of a ceasefire agreement and peace process, and to assist with the maintenance and restoration of law and order throughout Liberia. The mission successfully completed its mandate on 30 March 2018.

<p>The program featured <strong>Ebenezer Garteh</strong>-Administrative Director/Foundation for Christian Health and Relief Services-FCHRS who spoke about how this group of humanitarian volunteers are helping to alleviate poverty amongst the less privileged; <strong>Lakshmi Moore</strong>-Country Director/Action-Aid Liberia talks about Action-Aid&rsquo;s partnership with the Sustainable Development Institute-SDI and the Foundation for Community Initiatives-FCI to promote women and community rights in forest governance and management in Liberia; <strong>Tunde Ajisomo</strong>-ECOWAS Special Representative to Liberia says ECOWAS, AU and the UN have pledged support for an upcoming national forum of political parties and stakeholders next week in Monrovia; and <strong>Calixte Hessou</strong>-Communications Officer/UNFPA tells us how UNFPA and partners are observing the international day for the elimination of obstetrics fistula.</p>
